Amidst their Premier League title race with Manchester City, Liverpool have unveiled a throwback, pinstriped home kit for the 2019/20 domestic campaign.

Bringing back memories of incredible successes and truly glorious kits produced throughout the ‘80s, the club recently announced a pinstripe-style home shirt to honour 100 years since the late Bob Paisley’s birth, drawing inspiration from the jersey used in the 1982/83 season which saw the end of his unprecedented tenure as Liverpool manager.

The 2019/20 Liverpool home kit will assume the same deeper shade of red as seen in the previous two seasons with New Balance, who’ve strayed from the brighter red used for their first efforts between 2015 and 2017.

A bold take on a classic design, the pinstripes begin only just above the iconic ‘Liverbird’ logo, rather than running the shirt’s full length, with the pattern being complimented by a half-half white and red sleeve cuff.

Returning to a more circular, white-trimmed neckline, the kit is finished off nicely with the instantly recognisable red shorts and red socks combination.

Having easily secured their place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals earlier this week with a 6-1 aggregate win over FC Porto, Liverpool’s attention now returns to their upcoming Premier League fixtures.

Striving to win every one of their remaining league games, the Reds are also relying on Manchester City to drop points against any of Spurs, United, Burnley, Leicester or Brighton if they are to stand any chance of winning their first ever Premier League title.
