Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge-inspired home jersey for the 2019/20 season has finally been unveiled, with Real Madrid-linked superstar Eden Hazard featuring prominently in the reveal to the delight of Blues fans.
Whilst the Chelsea faithful now have a little more hope that their beloved Belgian will be extending his stay at Stamford Bridge, next season’s rather outrageous Nike home strip (reminiscent of our own infamous ‘spew kit’, just quietly) has garnered mixed-reactions on social media.
Predominantly blue, Chelsea’s 2019/20 jersey also heavily features a darker, abstract graphic inspired by the Blues iconic stadium, with imagery of the East, West and Matthew Harding Stands accompanying a depiction of the ground’s ‘Shed End’.
The V-neck shirt is complimented by Chelsea’s familiar blue shorts, white socks combination, whilst Yokohama Tyres retain their front-of-shirt sponsorship from previous seasons.
A subtle feature worthy of mention, the inverse of the collar is inscribed with a white lion surrounded by the words ‘The Pride of London’.
The strip will see its debut against Watford this Sunday as the Blues look to secure 4th place in the Premier League for direct UEFA Champions League qualification next season.
